Fullerton: St. John’s plans June 3 festival

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., invites all to its Celebrate Community festival, themed “Forever Young.” It will be 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. June 3.

This year, the festivities will be celebrating seniors and their families.

Join in at the 9:30 a.m. worship service. There will be many activities and entertainment until 2 p.m.

Some of the events include Tootsie the Clown, free food and drinks, a basket raffle, 50/50 raffle, kids’ area, photo booth, grab bag bingo, a candy wheel and music by The Deadliners.

Donations will be accepted, but the event is free and open to the public. Any proceeds and the worship collection will be donated to Meals on Wheels.

The adult choir of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church will present its annual spring concert 6 p.m. June 3.

The musical repertoire includes both sacred and secular hymns, along with hand bell selections.

A reception will immediately follow in the parish hall, 618 Fullerton Ave.

Admission is free and open to the public; however, a free-will offering will be taken.

St. Elizabeth’s will be holding its Vacation Bible School titled “Shipwrecked” June 25-29. Daily adventures run 8:45 a.m.-noon in the parish hall.

Registration forms will be sent home shortly. All are welcome - from 4-year-old children up to fifth grade. There is a small cost per child or for families for a full week of fun.

Volunteers from sixth grade through adult seniors are welcome!

Please note: Volunteers 18 years and older will require child protection paperwork. Adult volunteers’ children are free.
