Lower Macungie Township welcomes residents to Community Day

Lower Macungie Township held its Community Day May 1 with over 3,000 residents in attendance.

The event, held at the community center, included an opportunity to meet with local businesses serving the community, a visit from Snoopy and The Pink Troll Princess, a photo booth, 14K Klowns, music, face painting, crafts, contests, games, a pirate show, kite making, petting zoo, bubble blowing with Girl Scout Junior Troop 683, inflatables, a Mack Truck display, emergency management trailer display, a visit from the Pennsylvania State Police, Macungie Ambulance and the Lower Macungie Fire Department.

The Lower Macungie Fire Police provided traffic control and ensured safety for residents and Corporate Limousine offered shuttle services to vendors and guests.

Thanks were given to the community center staff for their work, including Bob Bieber, Rebecca Bretzik, Anne Crossley, Denise Foulke, Diane Geist, David Jackson, Bonnie Kirka, Mike McBeth, James Shackelford and Cindy Weiner.

The playground, snack bar and pool summer staff also helped with the event.

The Lower Macungie Garden Club was thanked for its work on the community center campus and for hosting a craft activity.

Ron Beitler, Bar None Weddings & Entertainment provided music and the announcements for the event.

Sue Stutzman and members of Girl Scout Junior Troop 683 were acknowledged for their assistance with the activities and Cindy McNabb, with Mrs. McNabb’s was thanked for the tasty treats.

Nick Ward, with Advanced Cleaning Solutions was also thanked.

Planning has already begun for next year’s Community Day.
