Hokendauqua: St. John’s to hold Memorial Day event

St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickleys, 2918 MacArthur Road, will host a Memorial Day worship service 9:30 a.m. May 27.

Also participating in the event are both Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church and Hokendauqua American Legion members.

Weather permitting, the service will be held in front of the maintenance building at the east end of St. John’s Cemetery along Eberhart Road. If the weather is inclement, the service will be inside the church.

Faith’s Sunday school youth will be singing during the service, as well as placing flowers on the graves of veterans. The American Legion Color Guard will honor the dead.

The speaker for the program will be Lehigh County Executive Phillips Armstrong.
