Western Salisbury Elementary School would like to invite Salisbury residents to Leadership Day.
All parents, guardians, friends and members of the Salisbury community are invited to school 9:30 to 11 a.m. May 24 to see how the Leader In Me program is turning students into future leaders. Check-in starts 9 a.m. RSVP via a sign-up Genius link on the WSE website.
The Pennsylvania Keystone exams are about to begin at Salisbury High School. Your student would have already received a notice if they are taking any of the exams. The schedule is as follows: algebra – May 14 and 15, biology – May 16 and 17 and literature – May 21 and 22. All students who are testing on a particular day should report to their bus stop or school at normal time. Students who are not testing that day should report to their bus stop or school two hours late.
SHS will host the district art show displaying artwork from students in grades kindergarten through 12th. Come out 5 to 8 p.m. May 9.
Also on May 9 at the high school is a school board meeting 7:30 p.m.
May 11 will be an early dismissal for Harry S Truman Elementary School and WSE. They will dismiss students 1 p.m.
WSE will hold a new family registration event 9:30 a.m. May 16.
Field Day for grades three to five at WSE will be held 1:30 p.m. May 17. Please send a water bottle with your student and make sure they are dressed properly for the day.
This is your last chance to have coffee and conversation with our district superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss and Assistant Superintendent Lynn Fuini-Hetten. Join them 6 to 6:45 p.m. May 21 at the administration building. Please RSVP to Mary Bishop at mbishop@salisburysd.org.
Immediately following the coffee and conversation, 7 p.m. will be a curriculum and technology meeting, also at the administration building.
The traditional combination band concert with students from both HST and WSE will be held 7 p.m. May 22 at HST.
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold a community breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. May 12. The theme of this month’s breakfast is “Honoring Mothers and Fathers.” Additional menu items include eggs Benedict casserole, cheesesteak omelets, cinnamon streusel coffee cake and strawberry lemonade bars. A donation is suggested. All proceeds will benefit the food packaging ministry. Please note this will be the last breakfast until September. There will not be a breakfast during the months of June, July and August.
The Devonshire drop-off is open May 15 and 19. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
