The Salisbury community is invited to the District Art Show at Salisbury High School May 9. Students’ artwork from grades kindergarten through 12th will be displayed throughout the auxiliary gym and includes art demonstrations throughout the night. Admission is free, although donations for the Scott Atiyeh Memorial Scholarship, which supports students who plan to pursue art in college, are greatly appreciated. Come to the high school between 5 and 8 p.m. to see Salisbury students’ artwork.

On May 1, Student Government Advisory held the spring blood drive. Students, ages 16 and older, and staff, were invited to donate blood to the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Overall, SGA collected about 50 pints to support those in need.

Keystone testing begins May 14 and will continue through May 25. All students who are not taking a test can report to school on a 2-hour delay schedule. Check the listing located near the main lobby to see when your test is scheduled.

On May 4, students in Key Club, Best Buddies and SGA traveled to Whitehall High School to volunteer for the Special Olympics, an organization which allows students with disabilities to compete in a variety of activities. At the Olympic Village (a canopy with tables), athletes were able to play games, hand paint, use a creation station and much more. Other games in the Special Olympics included a bean bag toss, bowling and a ring toss. Volunteers partnered with an athlete for the events or helped with the games at the Olympic Village. Everyone was able to win prizes, and many students agreed they love to participate and volunteer at the Special Olympics.

Come support the Race For Adam Foundation at the fourth annual Hello-Goodbye Soccer Tournament. The event begins 11 a.m. and continues through 1 p.m. May 12 at Salisbury High School.
