Bruce L. Bortz, 93, of Macungie, died May 2, 2018, in Cedarbrook. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Bear) Bortz. Born in Mountainville, he was the son of the late Elden and Mae (Hildebeidel) Bortz.

He worked for General Electric as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years.

He was a member of Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie.

He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of the Macungie VFW, Macungie Fire Company, the Macungie and Emmaus historical societies and the Shelter House Society.

He is survived by his wife; son, Dean, of Emmaus; daughter, Carol and her husband Timothy Maher, of Macungie; half-brother, Delano, of Macungie; grandchildren, Tesia (Bortz) Campbell, Lindsey (Maher) Seltzer and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Jada Lichtenwalner, Alexander Campbell and Braxton Seltzer. He was predeceased by a brother, Elden.
