Paul D. Shoemaker, 97, of Emmaus, died May 2, 2018, at his home. He was the husband of the late Mae (Miller) Shoemaker.

Born in Treichlers, he was a son of the late Edwin and Mabel (Owens) Shoemaker.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1939 to 1945.

He was a manufacturing supervisor at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, for 22 years before he retired in 1980.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Cherryville. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 792.

He is survived by a daughter, Judy and her husband Gerald Diehl Jr. of Emmaus; and three grandsons, John, Jeffrey and Adam.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanette.
