High school: Color Guard takes home third place

CHS senior Jack Manogue was recently honored at the 2017-18 District XI Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar Athlete and Hall of Fame banquet April 29.
Jack plans to further his education by attending Drexel University to major in mechanical engineering.
Congratulations, Jack, on your accomplishment!

Seniors Megan Nyce and Cam Ritter were selected as CHS’ Colonial League Academic All-Stars for the 2017-18 school year. Both students were recently honored at the Colonial League Academic All-Star breakfast, held at Green Pond Country Club.
Megan plans to continue her education at East Stroudsburg University to major in biology, while Cam will be attending Wilkes University to major in pharmacy.

The 11th annual Rough Rider golf tournament is scheduled for May 26 at Willowbrook Golf Club in Catasauqua. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the CHS Booster Club and CHS athletic department.
In 2017, more than 114 golfers participated, there were 34 hole sponsors, and numerous donations were received from individuals, businesses and local organizations. Golfer registration and hole sponsorship information for this year’s tournament can be found on the CHS website, cattysd.org.

Catasauqua Area School District is pleased to announce free beginner classes for adult English language learners. The classes are for adults 18 and older, whose English comprehension, speaking, reading, listening and writing skills are limited. The classes will focus on conversational English, as well as survival vocabulary.
Class dates will be announced.
