Donald C. Heffelfinger Sr., 81, of Lehighton, died May 2, 2018, in his home. He was the husband of Gloria A. (Parry) Heffelfinger for 41 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late George J.L. and Evelyn V. (Lewis) Heffelfinger.

He was a 1956 graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem.

He was a heavy equipment operator in the slag plant at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Parryville.

He was a life member of the First Ward Volunteer Fire Company, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan K. and her husband Marcus Brown of Black Hawk, S.D., and Patti A. and her husband Patrick Hart of Whitehall; two sons, Donald C. Jr. and his husband Stan Kaszuba of Oak Hill, Va., and Mark L. of Whitehall; a stepdaughter, Bonnie and her husband K.G. Woltz of Owings, Md.; two grandchildren, Jamie and Dakota and her husband; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-granddaughters; two sisters, Ruthann Feichtl and Kay and her husband Thomas Unger, all of Northampton; a niece; and two nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Freddie.

There will be a calling hour 10-11 a.m., followed by memorial services 11 a.m., both May 24 at the church, 297 Centre St., Parryville.
