Heidelberg Township’s Environmental Advisory Committee and Penn State Extension Office is offering a no-cost home water and septic workshop 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 22 at the Heidelberg Township Municipal Building, 6272 Route 309, New Tripoli.

The workshop will help homeowners:

·Understand their drinking water supply and septic system.

·Learn how to protect, test, and treat water from wells and springs.

·Learn how to maintain and inspect septic systems to keep them functioning properly.

This program will be very beneficial for owners and users of private water systems, such as wells, springs and cisterns and/or on-lot septic systems.

Free well-water testing will be offered to the first 30 households that register for the event.

Deadline for advance registration is May 18.
