The annual fourth-grade egg drop at Sheckler Elementary School will take place 1:15 p.m. tomorrow, May 4, in the school’s lower parking lot. Students are asked to create a container as a protective place for their uncooked egg to survive a drop of 50 feet. This will be done by volunteers from our local fire departments here in Catasauqua from atop a ladder truck.
Protective containers can be no larger than the size of a shoe box. No glass containers are allowed. No peanut butter or any other food item can be included in containers due to anyone having food allergies.
In the event of rain, the egg drop will be canceled for safety reasons. Rain date is May 11.
Good luck to all participants on having a surviving egg!

Hats off to Sheckler’s second-grade students on a terrific performance when they took to the stage April 25 to put on their program for families and friends. Thanks to everyone who had a part in making this show a success.
