Honor Society inducts Bethlehem area man

Nicholaus Gombocz of Bethlehem was initiated recently at Fort Hays State University into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Local man gives GSU research presentation

Jack Whylings of Bethlehem, an undergraduate Georgia State University student studying Neuroscience, presented research at the 12th annual Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference on April 12, 2018.

He was selected by GSURC to share his findings through his choice of oral presentations, posters, artistic displays and performances.

Wilkes University selects 3 local residents

Two Bethlehem area residents have been selected by Wilkes University for recognition.

Meghan Eller, a biology major, is the recipient of The Grace C. Kimball Scholarship in Biology at Wilkes University. The scholarship, presented to beginning biology majors, was established in 1985 in memory of Grace Kimball, a former faculty member of the biology department.

Nshimirimana Zawadi, a senior communication studies major, was honored at the 2018 Multicultural Awards and Graduation Celebration on April 17. She received the Global Scholar and Citizen Award, presented to a student who demonstrates significant contributions toward raising international awareness at Wilkes through involvement in campus and community activities promoting cross-cultural awareness.

Student pharmacist Kendall Kramer, of Bethlehem, and from the Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, participated in the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association annual Pharmacy Legislative Day on April 16 at the Capital Complex.

National non-profit names local

Leah Yaw, of Bethlehem, has been promoted to Chief Strategy Officer at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, headquartered in Philadelphia, where she will help design and lead strategic planning for the nonprofit organization.
