Mary James Wagner, 86, of Lower Milford Township, died April 13, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Quakertown. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Wagner.

She was for many years a Bethlehem police reporter for the former Bethlehem Globe-Times newspapers. She was the winner of many excellence in journalism awards from The Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. A student mentor, she was instrumental in the launch of and was an editor for The Valley Voice newspaper, Saucon Valley.

She and several friends started the Lower Milford Township library. She volunteered and was a steward for the Lower Milford Township Volunteer Fire Company.

She is survived by a son, Richard.
