Hobart E. McGonigle, 81, of Whitehall, died April 20, 2018, at Fellowship Manor.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late James and Margaret (Lentz) McGonigle.
He was a 1955 graduate of Allentown High School.
He served with the U.S. Army in Germany.
He worked at Bonney Forge and Tool Works for 40 years.
He was a member of the former Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ. He is a member of St. John’s UCC, Fullerton.
He is survived by sisters, Patricia and her husband Benjamin Taylor, Eleanor and her husband Joseph O’Donnell and Jean, with whom he resided; a sister-in-law, Ella; a cousin, Diane and her husband Robert Smith; nephews, John and his wife Meg Taylor, Brian and his wife Sally O’Donnell and Mark and his wife Brenda O’Donnell; nieces, Barbara and her husband Andrew Gallen, Lori and her husband Gary Muscarella, Lynn and her husband Kenn Grim, Kerin and her husband Drew Nicholas and Elaine Schmoyer; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces.
He was predeceased by brothers, Charles “Buddy” and James; a sister-in-law, Joan; nieces, Kelly Jean and Susan Taylor-Degnan; a nephew, David O’Donnell; and a great-nephew, Marc.
There will be a viewing 10 a.m. with an 11 a.m. service April 28 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall.
