Eleanor R. Tempest, 96, of Catasauqua, died April 20, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Tempest.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Belford) Klaugh.

She was a custodian at Sheckler Elementary School, Catasauqua, for many years before she retired. Before that, she was a machine operator at Lehigh Valley Dairy.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas P. and his wife Marilyn and Gary D.; a daughter, Donna Burkit and her partner Bruce Tressler; five grandchildren, Jason, Brian, Jessica, Matthew and William; five great-grandchildren, Nia, Chloe, Grace, Avery and Nathan; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Verna and Hilda; and two brothers, Elwood and Edward.

There will be a calling hour 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service 11 a.m., both April 28 at Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua.
