Paul Bahnick

Paul Bahnick, 92, of Northampton, died April 8, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Correll) Bahnick for 69 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Hnat Ignatz Bahnik and Mary (Lysek) Bahniuk.

He was in the U.S. Navy, 1943-46, and was a World War II veteran.

He was the co-owner of Bahnick Builders, Northampton, for 49 years.

He was a burner man, packer and truck driver for the former Portland Cement Plant/Universal Atlas Cement, Northampton, for 32 years until the plant’s closing. He was a licensed associate real estate broker for Imperial Realty, Bath, for eight years before retiring in 1990.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 and of the American Legion and was a life member of the First Ward Fire Company, Northampton.

He was an honorary coach of the Nittany Lion Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Paul Jr. and his wife Karen of Vancleave, Miss., Robert S. and his wife Theresa of Owensboro, Ky., and James E. and his wife Susan of Schnecksville; two brothers, John and Donald of Northampton; 10 grandchildren, Melissa and her husband Scott Cook, Kristen and her husband Cody Fenstermaker, Dominick and his wife Elizabeth Rossi, Alec, Kendyl, Raychel, Abigale, Matthew, Andrew and Jessica; and two great-grandchildren, Carly and Kinsey.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Steve, Nicholas, Walter and Joseph; and two sisters, Anna and Katherine.
