Jumbars chef wins award
Paul Hoffert, chef-owner of Jumbars, Bethlehem, has been named a Combray Creative Chefs LLC / Combray Award winner. The breakfast and lunch only restaurant, which uses local suppliers and seasonal ingredients, was recognized for “Excellence of a Chef-owned restaurant.”
The monetary award is meant to ease the financial pressures of maintaining the excellence of a small restaurant and to provide flexibility to a creative chef.
The award is privately funded, dedicated to identifying and supporting exceptional chef-owned restaurants in moderate-sized communities.
Student on indoor track team
Katelyn Warnke, of Bethlehem, was a member of the winter 2017-18 women’s indoor track and field team at Lebanon Valley College. The team earned six medals at the 2017-18 MAC Indoor championships. More information is available at godutchmen.com.
