Liberty: ‘The Wizard Of Oz’

Follow the yellow brick road to “The Wizard Of Oz,” 7 p.m. April 26, 27, 28 and 2 p.m. April 29, auditorium, Liberty High School, 1115 Linden St., Bethlehem.

With music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. “Yip’” Harburg, and background music by Herbert Stothart, the musical is based on L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” and adapted by John Kane from the 1939 movie, “The Wizard Of Oz,” for the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in 1987.

Judith Rivera produces and directs the Liberty High School production, assisted by vocal director Julie Wydrynski, assistant director Laura Mainiero, choreographer Colette Boudreux, pit director Allen Frank, set builder Ross Makary, sound technician Timothy Treweek, lighting technician Justin Amann, projection technician Ellen Schmoyer and program designer Michael Gori.

“Over The Rainbow,” “Yellow Brick Road,” “If I Only Had A Brain,” “If I Only Had A Heart” and “If I Only Had the Nerve” are among the featured songs.
