Joseph A. Scarano Sr., 87, of Macungie, died March 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was the husband of Nancy Scarano. They were married for 62 years.
He was a retired Port Authority police officer, a trained opera singer and an accomplished and published artist and author.
He was the sole author and illustrator of the book “In the Beginning,” one of his greatest accomplishments in life.
He earned a degree from Liberty University and was the former president of the International Cops for Christ and himself, a devout follower of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife; children, Maryann (Tom), Annmarie (Chris), Joseph (Kirsten), Frank (Michael); 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Anna; brother-in-law, Robby.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 17 at the Weber Funeral Homes, P.C., 1619 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown. Following the service there will be a gathering for immediate family.
