The National Honor Society Induction ceremony was held April 4 at Salisbury High School. Over 30 students were inducted into the Salisbury chapter of NHS. In order to be a part of NHS, students must demonstrate their qualifications through portraying the values of scholarship, leadership, service and character – the four pillars of NHS. Members of NHS complete 15 hours of community service a year, maintain a grade average of 93 and are available to peer tutor. Congratulations!

On April 5, students on the Reading Olympics Team traveled to Easton Area High School to participate in the Reading Olympics. Throughout the year, students at SHS read books from a list of 45 young adult titles high school students throughout the area were also reading. Then on Thursday, the students used their knowledge of the books to answer questions. The team who answered the most questions won the competition. After participating in the Reading Olympics for the first time in a few years, the Salisbury team won 17th out of 22 teams. Congratulations to the members of SHS’s Reading Olympics Team!

Rylee Donaldson and Lany Lagunilla are organizing the fourth annual Hello-Goodbye Soccer Tournament at the high school and team signups have begun. Teams will consist of up to eight players. In order to play, each player is asked to pay $5 to support this year’s charity, the Race For Adam Foundation. Registration is due by the end of April, and the game will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 12. Community members are encouraged to attend the event.

Finally, SHS students will enjoy a half day April 20.
