The third Monday open mic and jam night will be 6:30 p.m. April 16.

Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers, storytellers, etc., come show off your stuff! Or just come and be part of the audience. Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up just before 6:30 p.m.

The third Tuesday movie night will be 6:15 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

The April 17 movie will be “Justice League,” and the May 15 movie will be “Jumanji - Welcome to the Jungle.”

We will be changing over to the new circulation and cataloging system called SPARK April 19.

We will not be adding new items to the catalog through April 18 because of the migration of the two systems. Patrons will be able to continue checking items out, but returns will not be checked in until April 19.

We are excited to join the 10 other libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties. Between April and October, the Catasauqua, Coplay, Dimmick, Emmaus, Lehighton, Lower Macungie, Palmerton, Parkland, Slatington, Southern Lehigh and Whitehall libraries will join together in a cooperative library system called the Lehigh Carbon Library Consortium (LCLC).

We will have a spring gardening program with Kate Brandes called “Native Plants in the Home Garden” 6:30 p.m. April 24. She will talk about designing easy, beautiful home gardens that support your local ecology.

The program is free and open to all.

Learn some basic flower garden design tips you can apply in your own yard. This talk will also feature the benefits of native plants in the home landscape.
