State Sen. Lisa Boscola today announced three state grants aimed at supporting pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs.
“I am a proud supporter of programs aimed at training workers for good jobs,” Boscola said. “These programs also help businesses locate highly-trained workers, operate at full capacity and increase investment on our region.”
The grants include:
* B. Braun Medical Inc. $85,000 - pre-apprenticeship/apprenticeship grant and $41,430 capacity building grant;
* Cetronia Ambulance Corps - $45,495 capacity building grant; and
* Lehigh Carbon Community College - $80,000 pre-apprenticeship/apprenticeship grant
Administered by the state Department of Labor and Industry, PAsmart initiative grants are awarded through Local Workforce Development Boards across Pennsylvania. The grants provide funding for pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs, and help sponsoring organizations build capacity to improve and expand their programs.
