Robert Higgins, 81, of Northampton, died March 29, 2018. He was the husband of Dolores (Swider) Higgins for 58 years.

Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late Louis Sr. and Anna (Marek) Higgins.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a supervisor for many trucking companies over the years, before retiring from Preston Trucking.

He was a member of American Legion Post 470, Bath, and a life member of the Coplay Saengerbund.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Roberta and her husband Matthew Mortimer; a son, Mark and his wife Joanne; six grandchildren, Elliot, Lauren, Amanda, Logan, Carter and Trina; and a brother, Lou.

He was predeceased by a son, David; a brother, Stephen; and a sister, Joan.

There will be a calling time 8:30-11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. celebration of life service, both April 5 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21 St., Northampton.
