A pediatric cancer 8K run and 5K walk will take place April 7.

The race and festivities will begin 8 a.m. at Ironton Rail Trail. Registration for the race and walk is 7-8 a.m.

There will be a fun run and obstacle course for kids aged 12 and younger.

Festivities include a raffle with fabulous prizes, music, food and entertainment.

Coplay Food Bank is in need of canned fruit, fruit cups, cereal, tea, coffee and peanut butter. Donations can be dropped off at the borough office, 98 S. Fourth St., during business hours, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The food bank will be open 8:30-10 a.m. April 10. Proof of residency is required.

The 150th anniversary celebration will kick off April 6, 2019.

There will be a gala event filled with proclamations, entertainment, food and drinks.

We are now only one year away, and not all of our community clubs, organizations and civic groups have shared their input or plans. Time is running out to be a part of the celebration.

The next meeting will be held 7 p.m. April 19 in council chambers.
