Andrew D. Palco Sr., 88, of Whitehall, died March 27, 2018, at home, after a 20-year battle with prostate cancer. He was the husband of Elsie (Yost) Palco for 67 years.
Born in Egypt, he was a son of the late Andrew and Susan (Kuchera) Palco.
He was an U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Stiles.
He was employed by Imperial Countertops, Allentown. Before that, he worked for the former Willard Battery, Allentown.
He played the button accordion for Steve Huber and the Happy Austrians for 30 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Andrew D. Jr. and his wife Barbara of Whitehall; a daughter, Andrea Palco of Whitehall; four sisters, Peg Alfano of Cumming, Ga., Fran Moyer of Center Valley, Helen Thomas of Pennington, N.J., and Bernadine Fahringer of Bossier City, La.; and two grandsons, Zachary and Kyle.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Bruce; a brother, John Palco; and a sister, Susan Kramer.
There will be a calling hour 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial mass 10:30 a.m., both April 5 at the church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall.
