Carl L. Balliet, 71, of Allentown, died March 17, 2018. He was the husband of Bonnie G. (Snyder) Holland Balliet for 22 years. He was previously married to Helen I. Buchman.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Carl L. and Elsie (Wunderler) Balliet.

He was in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was a sergeant and a detective with the City of Allentown Police Department, where he was a member of the vice, motorcycle and mounted units.

He was currently a senior magisterial district judge in Lehigh County.

He was a golfer with the Allentown Duffers League and rode motorcycle with the Blue Knights.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mary C. and her husband Brian Grol of Whitehall; six grandchildren, Jon Michael, Hunter, Ian, Joshua, Josef and Emily; a stepson, John Holland; two brothers, Gregory and his wife Jobette and Phillip and his wife Linda; a goddaughter, Janelle; two aunts, Hilda Steirer and Stella Ruch; nieces; nephews; cousins; and extended family.

He was predeceased by a brother, James.
