Aloysius (Al) J. Makovsky, 76, of Whitehall, died March 15, 2018. He was the husband of Jean (Nachesty) Makovsky for 53 years.

Born in Cementon, he was a son of the late Michael and Suzanne (Malnik) Makovsky.

He was in the U.S. Navy.

He was a mortgage officer for Bank of America for many years.

He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian; a daughter, Lori and her husband Todd Hatajik; two grandchildren, Dylan and Lindsay; and three sisters, Patty Grabarits, Sister Jean, OSF, and Bonita Palenchar.

He was predeceased by three brothers.
