Shannon L. Wanko, 46, of Breinigsville, died March 12, 2018. She was the wife of William “Pete” Wanko for 24 years.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Stanley K. Sr. and Carol E. (Moyer) Smith.

She graduated summa cum laude from Kutztown University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education.

She was a first-grade teacher for 22 years at Sheckler Elementary School, Catasauqua.

She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis, where she worshipped and at which she volunteered during her lifetime.

She was a volunteer with the Wheels of Time Street Rod Association.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son, Jakob; a daughter, Hannah; a brother, Stanley K. Jr. and his wife Stephanie Smith; a sister, Stacey L. and her husband Kevin Brennan; nieces; and nephews.
