Eleanor M. Ketterer, 100, of Whitehall and formerly of Coplay, died March 10, 2018, at Whitehall Manor. She was the wife of the late Richard O. Ketterer for 52 years.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Florence M. (Kleckner) Newcomer.
She graduated from Allentown High School in 1934.
Before retiring in 1981, she was employed by the Allentown School District for 26 years, first as a baker in the Muhlenberg Elementary School cafeteria and then in the delinquent tax office of the administration building.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown.
She is survived by a son, William B. and his wife Judy of Coplay; a daughter, Kathleen M. Sterner of Northampton; five grandchildren, Karen L. and her husband Michael Korpics of Nazareth, Karla L. Lyle of Coplay, Kirk W. of Coplay, Tamantha K. and her husband Keith Yanders of Allentown and Kimberly A. of Whitehall; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Donald R.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Melton; a brother, Howard J. Newcomer; and three sisters, Marion Wieder, Evelyn Crowe Shaffer and Irene Kline.
Arrangements were made by Stephens Funeral Home Inc., Allentown.
