Donald R. Oswald

Donald “Ozzie” R. Oswald, 77, of Whitehall, died Feb. 13, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Evon C. (Kurtz) Oswald for 38 years.

Born in West Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Albert and Clara (Bartholomew) Oswald.

He was a 1960 graduate of Whitehall High School.

He was a deliveryman for Coca-Cola of the Lehigh Valley for over 40 years until he retired in 2004.

He was, earlier in his life, a member of Whitehall Township Fire Department and was an assistant chief in Fullerton. He was a life member and former downstairs kitchen manager of Fullerton Fire Company No. 1, a life member of Sun Valley Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Four County Fireman’s Association and a life member of Teamsters Local 773.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mae Peacock and Gladys McCarthy; nieces, nephews; and Evon’s children, Cindy Held-Szlasa and Lee and Debra Held and their families.

He was predeceased by a sister, Marlene Majercak; and an infant brother, Carl.
