Catherine M. (Sherman) Eckhart, 86, of Northampton, died March 11, 2018, at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Ernest E. Eckhart Sr.

Born in Gerrardstown, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Edgar P. and Rosie (Adams) Sherman.

She was a seamstress for the former D&D Shirt Company, Northampton, until she retired in 1985.

She was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bath.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol L. and her husband Russel Hunter of Florida; three sons, Allen W. and his wife Donna of Albrightsville, Bryan of Northampton and Ernest E. Jr. and his fiancée Nancy Gerstenberg of Laurys Station; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Eckhart, Janet L. and her husband Ralph Eckhart Jr. and BettyLou Whitaker, all of Northampton; a brother, Edward Sherman of Allentown; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna M. Schleicher.
