Irene “Nana” M. Ritter, 95, of Whitehall and formerly of Allen Township, died Feb. 25, 2018, at Fellowship Community, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Alfred W. Ritter.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Albert H. and Ella C. (Greene) Beichey.

She was a marker in the marking room for J.C. Penny, Whitehall, for 10 years before she retired in 1986. She then worked at Kurious Kids, Whitehall, cooking for the children and rocking babies.

She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Egypt.

She is survived by a son, Thomas S. and his wife Lorraine of Whitehall; a daughter, Judith and her husband Walter Humphreys of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Jane A. Miller of Bethlehem; five grandchildren, Valerie, Alison, Sandra, Donna and Thomas; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Janice; a grandson, Christopher; five brothers; and two sisters.
