Negron new library council appointee
Olga Negrón was appointed recently by Governor Tom Wolf to the Governor’s Advisory Council on Library Development. The Bethlehem Area Public Library representative is also a councilwoman for the City of Bethlehem and the City Council’s representative on the Bethlehem Area Public Library Board.
The GAC on Library Development is a council of library professionals, trustees and laypeople charged with advising the Governor, the Secretary of Education, and the State Librarian on matters relating to the State Library of Pennsylvania and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries’ programs. The council is responsible for approving draft regulations that will be proposed by the Department of Education’s Office of Commonwealth Libraries before they are submitted to regulatory agencies for review.
