The American Society of Civil Engineers - Lehigh Valley is holding a “Dream Big” inaugural Lehigh Valley Bridge Design scholarship contest as part of National Engineers Week. The free, online hands-on engineering design competition is for high school (grades nine through 12) and middle school students (grades six to eight) currently enrolled in a school or who are home schooled in Berks, Bradford, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne or Wyoming County.
Individuals or teams of two must download the Bridge Designer software and must submit their qualifying round entries by 1 p.m. March 26.
The top three teams in each category will compete in the finals on April 7 at the Banana Factory Arts Center, 25 W. Third St. Complete contest rules and entry procedures can be found at bridgedesigner.org/lehighvalley.
