Whitehall Township Public Library: Library plans next open mic and jam event for Feb. 19
Join us 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month for open mic and jam night. Come in Feb. 19 to hear some cool music and other entertainment.

Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up just before 6:30 p.m. Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers, storytellers, etc., come show off your stuff - or just come and be part of the audience.

We will continue to do the third Tuesday movie night 6:15 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The movie for Feb. 20 will be “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

The Simply Play program for children continues 1 p.m. Feb. 21 and 28.
The program involves learning through playtime with new creative toys that we received with a grant. Legos and other items are available, and stories will be read.

The adult coloring club will meet 11 a.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month. The library has some supplies but invites you to bring your own as well.

Our What Are You Reading Now? book club meets 1 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of every month.
Patrons are invited to chat about whatever books they are reading at the moment - the ones you loved, the ones you hated and everything in between.

Register now for preschool storytime. We will have a session 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays starting March 6 through April 24 and 1 p.m. Wednesdays starting March 7 through April 25.
Toddle storytime will be 10:30 a.m. Thursdays starting March 15 through April 26.
You may register online or stop by the library.
Family storytime will be 7 p.m. every Wednesday starting March 7 through April 25 and is open to all ages.
No registration is needed for family storytime.

We will be changing our catalog and circulation system at the library in April. The library will open 1-6 p.m. March 9 and then be closed all day March 16 for the staff to be trained on the new system.
Plan ahead to get your books and movies. Keep an eye out for more information about the new system, called SPARK.

Plan ahead for March. An “Intro to Genealogy” class will be taught 6-8 p.m. March 22 and 10 a.m.-noon March 24.
Let us help you get started digging up your roots. Library director Patty Vahey will show you how to use our Ancestry and Heritage Quest databases to search for records and documents.

You still have time to sign up for the adult winter reading program. Our theme is year is “Book Your Winter Getaway!”
Sign up before March 15, either online or at the front desk. This is open to anyone 18 years old and older. All you need to do is write down the author and title of each book you read or listen to and turn in the log by 5 p.m. March 15.
The wrap-up parties will be 1-2 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. March 27.
There is an additional reading challenge you may complete to be entered to win an additional prize. You must complete the challenge and return it by 5 p.m. March 15.
