Chosen Words
The younger generation doesn’t seem to have respect.
When they see the old folks salute the flag,
They say, “What the heck?”
They didn’t lose their children In the fight to keep us free;
They do not understand All the lives that were lost
To obtain that liberty.
What if it was your child?
Some of our children were drafted
They didn’t have a choice;
They were frightened and scared
To go away, but they Didn’t have a voice.
When conflict came upon this land,
They had to go to war.
They had to defend this nation,
To save God’s beautiful creation.
Our children served with honor.
They served with willingness.
They were proud to serve this country,
Though aware of all the stress.
What if it was your child,
Who never returned home?
How would you feel about that?
Maybe it would change your tone?
No one in their right mind
Would ever want a war;
But when it comes upon us, We need to settle the score.
Sometimes our children come home,
Sometimes they do not.
If your child never comes home,
You have lost a LOT!
What if it was your child?
Think about that last sentence.
Put yourself in their place.
Learn to respect our veterans,
Instead of spitting in their face.
You are free to roam the world.
You have freedom for everything you do.
You have freedom to do anything you want
Because of those serving for you.
What if it was your child?
GOD BLESS OUR VETERANS!
