The leadership of the Pennsylvania Music Preservation Society (PAMPS) announced today that it has finalized the name of its 2018 Memorial Day weekend event at the historic Allentown Fairgrounds to be “The Great Pennsylvania Music & Arts Celebration.” The change from the original “Great Allentown Memorial Day Celebration” reflects expanded interest and involvement in the free public event since it was first announced last August.

Besides its goal to help promote and preserve the state’s cultural heritage, the annual Great Pennsylvania Music & Arts Celebration will showcase the rich military history of the region, while also remembering and honoring the men and woman who have served and died in the U.S. Armed Forces.

It was also announced that the celebration will increase to three days (Saturday, May 26; Sunday, May 27, and Monday, May 28) with a Friday evening (May 25) Coronation Event (ticketed and open to the public) for each year’s Celebration King and Queen.
