Margaret “Peggy” Jane Butz, 78, died Jan. 11, 2018, at Whitehall Manor, Whitehall. Born in Wilson, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Jane (Warner) Steckel of Wilson. She was the wife of the late Harold A. Butz for 52 years.
She was a Wilson Area High School, Easton, graduate. She earned an assoicate’s degree in business and secretarial fields at Churchman’s Business School, Easton.
Before her retirement, she was church secretary for and a member of Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church, Bethlehem, for many years. She was a vocalist and pianist.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff and his wife Margaret of Danielsville and Jim and his wife Melanie of Cumming, Ga.; five grandchildren, Evan Butz, Connor and his wife Elizabeth Butz and Ryan, Madison and Hannah Butz; a sister-in-law, Peggy Steckel of Billings, Mont.; two nieces, Jane and Debbie; and two nephews, Michael and Stephen.
She was predeceased by a brother, James Steckel of Billings, Mont.
