Police arrested 50-year-old Jeffrey Leroy Saeger around 10:53 p.m. Jan. 23 for allegedly trying to kill his wife.

Police responded to a reported domestic disturbance on East Church Street and found a woman with visible injuries, covered in blood. She said her husband struck and chocked her. She was admitted to St. Luke’s University Hospital.

Saeger is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated and simple assault, strangulation and threats. He was remanded to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $2.5 million bail.
