Floyd O. Painz, 94, of Whitehall, died Jan. 9, 2018. He was the husband of Pearl M. (Stoudt) Painz for 71 years.
Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Charles and Esther (Hockman) Painz.
He was in the U.S. Army for three years and was with the 264th Infantry 66th Division, European Theater operation, in World War II.
He was a printer, first at Correll Printing, Easton, and then for The Morning Call, Allentown, where he worked in the composing room for 35 years. He was a supervisor for three years and an assistant composing room superintendent for six years.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Allentown. He was a choir member for 58 years, having first sung at St. Peters UCC, Tatamy.
He was a 14-year volunteer at Fellowship Community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Marlene and her husband Richard Chaney of Hatboro; a son, Edward and his wife Doreen of Westminster, Colo.; four grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Melissa and Nicholas; five great-grandchildren, Neala, Nolan, Liam, Cole and Benjamin Floyd; and two sisters, Marion Baumgartner and Irene Attinello.
