The East Penn Conference Wrestling Championship Day will take place this Saturday at Easton Area Middle School headlined by the 7 p.m. showdown between Bethlehem Catholic and Nazareth for the EPC crown.
The Golden Hawks (7-1, 7-0) knocked off the Blue Eagles (10-0, 5-0) last year 40-20 to win the league title and will be favorites to do so again.
Wrestling begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the bottom three teams from Division A and B squaring off.
The next round takes place at 3:15 p.m. with the 7th, 9th and 11th place bouts taking place.
The third and fifth place bouts get going at 5 p.m. with Liberty (14-1, 5-1) likely taking on Parkland (6-6, 5-2) in the third place bout. The fifth place bout could see Easton (6-2, 5-2) facing Stroudsburg (10-2, 5-2).
Freedom (7-4, 3-3) will most likely wrestle during Saturday’s 3:15 p.m. round against Whitehall (9-5, 3-3), Emmaus (5-6, 3-3) or Northampton (10-3, 5-2).
Final pairings for Saturday’s lineup won’t be released until Thursday, which comes after Press deadlines.
