Lawrence “Larry” R. Andreas, 86, of Northampton, died Dec. 23, 2017. He was the husband of Lillian I. (Kosman) Andreas for 64 years.
Born in Aquashicola, he was son of the late Mark O. and Evelyn A. (Creitz) Andreas.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He ran Andreas Home Improvements from his Northampton home for 20 years until he retired in 2003. Before that, he worked for the Northampton Lumber Company, Brader’s Woodcraft, Lehigh Valley Dairy and Bethlehem Steel.
He was a member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton; Catholic War Veterans Post 454, Northampton; Korean Last Man Club, Lehighton; and Boy Scout Troop 82, Andreas. He was a chairman of Troop 35, Howertown; a past president of Northampton Exchange Club; and a committee member of the Freedom Shrine and of Jack Frost Parade. He was a treasurer of Grundsow Lodge 11 and a life member of the NRA and Lappawinzo Fish & Game Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Linda and her husband Ronald Greenzweig, Susan and her husband Brian Lowder, Eric and his wife Evelyn and Scott; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clair and Murray; and other family and friends.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Brent Greenzweig; and a brother, Robert.
