For the past year, a steering committee has been meeting to plan festivities and events for Coplay Borough’s 150th anniversary celebration.
The kickoff gala will take place April 6, 2019, at the American Club pavilion. Some of the events being planned are a community picnic at Sammy Balliet Stadium, block parties throughout the borough, a parade, pub crawl, scavenger hunt and a fireworks display.
There is still time to be involved in the planning of this once-in-a-lifetime event.
For more information, call borough hall at 610-262-6088. Ask for Kim or Sandy.

Did you know the last graduating class from Coplay High School was in 1963? For a very long time, the borough was known as Schreibers because, in 1740, John Jacob Schreiber bought 400 acres of land, of which Coplay was a part, from the William Penn heirs.
