Kempton driver dies after pickup crashes

A 25-year-old Berks County man was killed when his 2000 Chevrolet 2500 pickup flipped onto its roof 3:25 a.m. Aug. 17 in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery, on Red Road north of Route 737, Albany Township, Berks County.

State Police Troop L, Hamburg, say Christopher R. Hausman of Kempton was westbound on Red Road when he apparently failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway.

Police say Hausman attempted to brake hard but was unable to avoid having his truck travel off the road and strike a concrete wall.

After impact, the pick up flipped onto its roof in the cemetery.

Hausman was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

The pickup was towed by Trail Towing.

Hamburg EMS and the Kempton Fire Department assisted at the scene.
