The Hokendauqua chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its 2018 beginners’ fly-tying course Jan. 6, 2018. The classes are three hours each for a total of 24 hours.
They will start 9 a.m. Jan. 6, 2018, and will run for eight consecutive Saturday mornings through Feb. 24, 2018. The classes are held in the cafeteria of Northampton Area Middle School, 1617 Laubach Ave.
All materials and a 108-page manual are given to each student. A step-by-step video presentation on the tying of each fly is shown before the students start tying. Instructors will then help each student. Loaner tool kits are also available at no additional cost, or you may bring your own.
There is a cost for the course. There is a reduced cost for students ages 16 and under. If a student completes at least six weeks of the course, the fee will be refunded. Project Healing Waters veterans may attend at no cost.
