Coplay Borough’s office and public works department will be closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 26. Monday trash will be collected Dec. 27, Tuesday trash will be collected Dec. 28 and recyclables will be picked up Dec. 29.

Several openings exist on borough boards and commissions. There are two open seats on parks and recreation, two expiring seats on the Coplay library board and four open seats on the board of appeals. If anyone is interested in serving on any of these boards, call 610-262-6088.

Good news: Al Recker, who is going through physical therapy at Lehigh Valley Hospital, was scheduled to be released Dec. 20. He will continue therapy at home.

The Coplay Community Plaza has been receiving such positive feedback from borough residents and surrounding neighbors on its holiday decorations and displays at the gazebo. The popular plaza is a project of the borough planning and parks and recreation committees.

Did you know the Borough of Coplay seceded from Whitehall in 1869 and was then incorporated as a borough April 7, 1869. Coplay Borough will be celebrating its 150th birthday in 2019.
