Salisbury High School’s Student Government Advisory held a food drive for the holidays and were successful in donating over 1000 items to the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank.
SGA will hold a blood drive Dec. 14. If you are 16 years or older and either a student or staff member at the high school, come donate blood. There will be a raffle for those who donate for a pair of Phantoms tickets and two Phantoms shirts.
Students from SHS are going to see the movie “CoCo” Dec. 9 sponsored by the Spanish teachers. “CoCo” is about a young boy named Miguel’s dream to become a musician like Ernesto de la Cruz, but he has to face the challenge of his family’s ban of music. He is transported to the Land of the Dead, where he learns his family’s history.
Don’t have enough time to wrap your holiday gifts? On Dec. 9 and 16, members of the Salisbury cheerleading team will wrap gifts free of charge 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school “old gym.” All you have to do is bring your gifts and wrapping paper. Donations will be greatly appreciated.
Come support the SHS Literary Club at its Barnes and Noble night at the Promenade mall 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 15. There will be many activities including a scavenger hunt and crafts. A featured hot chocolate also will be offered. Proceeds from items purchased in the store and at the café will benefit the SHS Literary Club. All you have to do is mention the school at check out. Can’t come to Barnes and Noble? Support the SHS Literary Club online between Dec. 15 and 20 by using the Bookfair ID - 12255840. Money earned will be used for future activities such as the annual trip to Kutztown University for a visiting author lecture and preparation for the annual Lehigh Valley Reading Olympics.
SHS students are looking forward to another early dismissal scheduled 10:45 a.m. Dec. 11.
