Weisenberg students raise funds for hurricane relief

During October, all grade levels at Weisenberg Elementary School competed against one another in a penny war to raise funds for hurricane relief.

Once all the coins were tallied, the winner of the competition was the second grade, which earned extra Makerspace time.

The fundraiser brought in $3,248.79, which was divided evenly in donations made to Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico via the American Red Cross.

“Thank you to all who donated and to the PTO for organizing this worthwhile fundraiser on behalf of Weisenberg,” Reimert said in an email to The Press. “We would also like to express our gratitude to New Tripoli Bank for processing all of those coins.”
