Student artwork on display in board meeting room
Kathleen Kehs, high school art instructor, introduced the students whose art is exhibited in the administrative meeting room at Northwestern Lehigh District School.
Superintendent Mary Anne Wright said she loves to see the room decorated with student art.
Kehs said when she asked the students to participate the only thing they were interested in was whether they would have to talk.
“I have lots of hard workers this year,” Kehs told the school board at its November meeting.
Emily Corke’s picture was a watercolor of pineapple slices which focused on texture. Sunlight in a meadow was the choice of Julianna Edwards done in pastels.
Based on childhood memories were the works of Morgan Moss, Harry Potter on canvas; L. Caitlin Rehrig, dogs on canvas; a snowy sliding board in winter was done by Camille Stanley and Simba from the Lion King was the choice of Hallie Harrington.
Jessie Williamson created pastel lily pads. Chloe Grim put a watercolor tiger on canvas. Pastel sunflowers were painted by Melanie Hein. Morgan Duffy painted watercolor flowers.
Seth Brady brought nature indoors with his waterfall. A bridge in pastels was painted by Mya Conti and Elizabeth Leiser did a portrait in acrylics.
Wright said it was an honor to have their work in the room.
Board President Bill Dellicker thanked the students for attending the meeting.
“We like to see who you are,” Dellicker said.
