James “Bucky” Neil Boyle
James “Bucky” Neil Boyle, 92, of Bath and formerly of Whitehall, died Nov. 23, 2017, at his daughter’s home. He was the husband of the late Jeannette “Sis” (Steacher) Boyle for 48 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late George “Bucky” and Anna (Golly) Boyle.
He was a 1944 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School where he quarterbacked the undefeated 1943 football team.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre in France and Germany with the 580th Field Artillery Battalion. He received the World War II Victory Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon and one Bronze Star.
He was a service technician for UGI Corporation for more than 40 years until he retired in 1987.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Baseball First and Sixth Ward Old Timers Association, the Italian American Bocce Club and Jordan Lanes’ senior citizens bowling league.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra and her husband Barry Hudock, with whom he resided, and Theresa “Terri” and her husband Keith Labaty; three grandchildren, James and his wife Rebecca Hudock, Nicole and her husband Dino Mincin and Joette Hoffman; and six great-grandchildren, Xander and Lennon Hudock, Gianna, Isabella and Sophia Mincin and Mattie Vorhis.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Jane; and a granddaughter, Brooke Jennifer Hudock.
